Now that we have entered a brand new year it is time to review which trends we are leaving in 2019 and what styles we will be adopting in 2020. Since the festive season has now quietened and life is slowly but surely getting back into a routine it is the perfect time to assess the New Year in the world of home decor. What has been officially chosen as the colour of 2020? What simple decor changes shall we be making around the house?

Here we are...2020! The start of a new year is like a breath of fresh air as it marks the perfect excuse to create new goals for yourself, however big or small. Today’s blog post gains its inspiration from a platform which us at World of Wallpaper are LOVING at the moment; Houzz. For those unfamiliar with the site, Houzz is an interior design, ‘social-media-like’ website used by homeowners looking for home decor inspiration, businesses exhibiting their design projects, and nosey people like me who just enjoy scrolling through pictures of other people’s immaculate homes. Not only can you get lost scrolling through people’s kitchens for hours, you can also get involved in discussions with professionals and other home-owners, exchanging words of advice for your own or others design projects.

As the weather gets colder and the days get darker winter is starting to feel like its creeping closer and closer. However, before that time we have *personally* the best season of all to enjoy; Autumn! Halloween, Bonfire Night, cosy nights in, what’s not to love? After the annual disappointment of having to double guess the English summer weather, autumn gives us the perfect opportunity to dress up warm and excuses us to wear our comfiest outfits outside of the comfort of our homes. Best of all, autumn gives we home lovers the excuse to redesign our living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens to match the themes of the season. Say hello to warmer colour tones, decorative fireplaces and homage’s to nature.
